ParkRun Tour: Whitstable
A group of 11 OverRunners headed to Whitstable on 2nd May 2026 to take on its coastal parkrun for our latest bit of tourism. The two-lap course runs right along the seafront, giving you great views the whole way round. It’s a lovely route (minus the hill), even if the storm flies decided our OverRun tees were the main attraction. Big thanks to the marshals and volunteers who make parkrun happen every week, it wouldn’t run without them. A special mention to Jay for finishing 2

ParkRun Tour: Deal
A group of OverRunners made their way to Deal for a bit of Parkrun tourism, tackling the lovely seafront course. The one-lap route is flat and speedy, winding along the coast and providing stunning views of the water which was the ideal setting to keep the legs moving. Interestingly, we also went to Deal parkrun on the Easter weekend the year before, so perhaps it has become an OverRun tradition now. After the run, we all went to The Stag for a well-deserved breakfast, rechar

OverRun's Miles for the Mind: Kent Coastal Race 2025
Sporting Events UK and the OverRun community came together to organise our very first official race event, and it was a truly unforgettable day! The OverRun community, along with their friends and family, kindly volunteered to Marshall the course and support the runners all day. Their hard work made sure the event was safe and smooth for everyone and thankfully, we don’t think anyone got lost! People could choose between a 10k or a half marathon. The event, called Miles for t

Runbelievable Runway Rerun 2026
A team of us headed over to Manston airport on the 14th March for a unique chance to race down the vast, flat expanse of an airport runway; definitely not your average running route! What made the day even more special was how inclusive the event was. Runners only needed to complete one 6.55-mile lap within the 8 hour cut off to earn their medal, with the freedom to keep going and complete as many laps as they wanted during the eight-hour challenge. It was fantastic to see so

East Kent Mind: Mental Elf Run 2025
The Mental Elf Run in Canterbury was a fantastic way for OverRunners to come together and support a brilliant cause, raising awareness for East Kent Mind. We joined over 300 participants, all turning out in their best Christmas attire, bringing plenty of festive spirit to the streets of Canterbury as we completed a 5K run through the city in support of mental health awareness. The atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish, with the community really coming together for an

Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards 2025
On the 24th October 2025, OverRun Project was officially awarded a Kent Mental Health Wellbeing Award of 2025! I was invited down to the official awards ceremony, along with a guest of my choice. I decided to bring my OverRunner of the year, Johnny Davis-Taylor; someone who has truly emobied the club's core values since joining. We secured an additional 5 tickets for some other members to come along, giving a total of 7 OverRunners! We swapped out our using running attire for

Tough Mudder 2025 £5,000+ Fundraiser
Tough Mudder, you either love it or you hate it. For us, it was a challenge of physical and mental endurance! If you haven't heard of Tough Mudder, it's basically a chance to frolic in mud, splash in mud, and then, just for a change, wallow in even more mud. Featuring a 5K and 15K distance, the famous mud run tests your physical strength and mental resilience. We sent 16 of our OverRunners there, all whilst fundraising for Mind. We kicked off the day bright and early at 6:30,
