On the 24th October 2025, OverRun Project was officially awarded a Kent Mental Health Wellbeing Award of 2025!
I was invited down to the official awards ceremony, along with a guest of my choice. I decided to bring my OverRunner of the year, Johnny Davis-Taylor; someone who has truly emobied the club's core values since joining. We secured an additional 5 tickets for some other members to come along, giving a total of 7 OverRunners!
We swapped out our using running attire for bow ties, ball gowns and shiny shoes and headed over to the Ashford International Hotel. The evening commenced with complimentary sparkling wine on arrival, followed by a 2 course meal and then into the main awards ceremony.
The awards were hosted by Simon Dolby from Mind, and Nicola Everett from KMFM, with various performances and success stories in between.
The entire experience felt surreal to me. OverRun was never intended to become a club of this size, let alone an award-winning one! Sharing the space with other local groups that have the same mission was a true honour, and it was incredible to witness the number of people who support our club's goals.
I am beyond grateful to each and every member for making OverRun the club it is today. Without our club members, winning this award would not have been possible.
This award is for you - For your courage, your vulnerability and for wearing your mental ill health with pride!
